In Australia, helping people to have babies is a booming, lucrative business. According to the Fertility Society of Australia one in six couples in Australia and New Zealand suffers from infertility and 5 per cent of children in Australia are born from assisted reproductive technologies.
With so many Australians affected — and no national regulatory oversight — ABC News has decided to take a closer look at how the Assisted Reproductive Technology industry operates in a new, ongoing series: Making Babies.
