We all have a mother, sister, aunt, or friend who have been diagnosed, instantly immersing us in the experience. And while awareness has never been higher, and the rate of recovery improves every year, many women still struggle to parse the overload of information we have at our fingertips. Dr. Port is a surgeon first and foremost; she specializes in the care and treatment of patients with breast cancer, and performs over 300 operations a year. She's the Director and the Chief of Breast Surgery at the Dubin Breast Center, and has recently released The New Generation Breast Cancer Book, a comprehensive guide to navigating the breast cancer experience that for a newly diagnosed woman and her family.
